Use this acrylic Heavy Body Texture to bring stars into the 3rd dimension, or add a shimmer to your work so lustrous that onlookers will be drawn in, the same way a diamond attracts the eye. Its reflective characteristic can allow an actual shine in your artwork, subtle yet enticing.
Opaque with excellent lightfastness, this opalescent acrylic will not dim nor diminish over time. Silky and easily maneuvered, this paint dries with a glass like finish. We worked tirelessly to nail down this variegated and unique acrylic Heavy Body Texture, tweaking and actually using the material till we got it just right. Semi-transparent, Iridescent Pearl contains Titanium Dioxide and Synthetic mica, which gives it that rich sheen, with a natural feel.

4 easy steps to pipe heavy texture
1. Snip It
Cut a small piece off the bag, about 3/4 of an inch. Cut further as needed to increase flow of paint.
2. Twist it
Use dominant hand to twist the top until bag feels firm. Apply steady pressure to force air pockets outs.
3. Squeeze it
Guide the nozzle with one hand, applying pressure with the other to control paint thickness and shape.
4. Clip It
Flatten the open end and clip it for short-term storage. For long-term, transfer to airtight container.
sculpt with paint
Achieve multicolored compositions up to six inches instantly, with lasting color fidelity and durability.
Mix Paints, not mediums
Effortlessly mix Heavy Texture with Acrylic Colors, avoiding the need for costly thickening mediums that can lead to cracking, discoloration, or drooping.
Cost effective
Our in-house manufacturing cuts out the middleman, allowing emerging artists to experiment freely without the high costs.
FAQ
How long does it take to dry?
Drying time varies based on humidity, temperature, and paint thickness. Takes about 60-90 minutes to dry to the touch and at least 5-7 days to fully dry. Use fans to speed up drying.
Can I use Heavy Texture on canvas or other surfaces?
Utilize wood panels when working with Heavy Texture for optimal paint structure; the bounciness of canvas can be a hindrance with large volumes of paint.
Test drying process of Heavy Texture on small samples of intended surface to determine compatibility.
Can I mix Heavy Texture with regular acrylics?
Our 'regular' acrylic paints, Acrylic Colors collection, are made to be mixed with Heavy Texture. While Heavy Texture is mostly compatible with other acrylic brands, results may vary. Conduct a small mixing test to check compatibility and consider using gaffrey paints for best results.
Do I need a gesso to prime my surface before using Heavy Texture?
Choose our Base Coats over gesso for artist-quality paint infused with marble dust for better adhesion. Only need 1-2 coats to prime you panel.

Love Gaffrey paints. I am now an artist but never was. Thank you.
Love the shiny pearly paint!!!!! Another amazing heavy texture choice!
I started a triptych using the peart paint, but had to stop working on it because I ran out of paint. In the meantime, the paint I had applied dried. It looks fine on the service and has a nice texture, but, I wanted height to the painting and had built up about a 1/3 of an inch layer on one section of the painting. When it dried, it was about 1/8 in high, so that was kind of disappointing. I'm going to finish the painting with the extra paint I ordered, but, I was hoping for the effect of very thick planes of paint on my project.
I love this paint ! Once the sun hits it oh my goodness is it beautiful , I’m so happy with it! I tried to post a few photos but it wouldn’t let me for some reason but great paint … I can’t get enough of it
So gorgeous the way it shimmers. Just ordered some more and I can’t wait to experiment more with it!!
