Dioxazine Purple Artist Acrylic Paint - Gaffrey Art Material

Dioxazine Purple Artist Acrylic Paint

Description

This is not your ordinary purple. Dioxazine's signature dark hue leans towards blue, while most violet colors lean red on the color spectrum. Some folks call it a frightful violet. Others claim it's a deep indigo. Either way, it's a color that demands attention.

This deep and rich color is a master of shadows, bringing depth and contrast to any composition. Its ice-cold blue shade adds a mystique for conveying distance or depth in your work. When purple is called for in your compositions, try surrounding it with muted tones to make the purple pop.

Dioxazine Purple stands out in our collection of violets. Take Quinacridone Violet, for example. Dioxazine brings coolness with its bluer undertone, while Quinacridone leans toward the red side of the violet spectrum. It's a potent pigment that can easily overpower color mixes that can be daunting at first. However, we have made exciting discoveries, like mixing it with Naphthol Red for a super jammy rogue.

For us, it's not an everyday color in the studio, but you'll be thankful it's there to get the job done when the mood strikes. A dab'll do ya' to get that solid tinting strength with that blasts of purple, saving you some precious pennies. The blue-based undertone of Dioxazine Purple makes it a versatile gem for adding a touch of complexity and depth to your work.

Gaffrey acrylic colors are crafted in small batches with a hint of artistic mischief and paint chemistry expertise. Our colors undergo daily testing by our seasoned team of self-taught art pros.

Great Paint

This dark and rich purple paint has excellent pigment and texture and is perfect for mixing a range of purple hues. When dried it nears a blackish color, but does not become dull like a lot of purples do. GAM is my go-to for artist paints!
